Cherry

A noble American hardwood known for its working properties and durability. This wood has grown in popularity recently and has qualities of much more expensive woods that can be very difficult to find. The heartwood varies from a rich red to reddish-brown, and at times, salmony color, with a fine, straight, close grain with narrow brown pith flecks and small gum pockets. Cherry will finish with a smooth and supple texture. The sapwood is a creamy white color that commonly occurs with the heartwood. Cherry wood typically darkens with age to a rich reddish-brown color.
